Where does the lesson take place?
In a family setting in Banjar Pesalakan, Pejeng Kangin, near Ubud in Gianyar, Bali. Exact arrival or pickup details are confirmed directly.
Is round-trip Ubud transport included?
Yes. Pickup and return from accommodation in Ubud are included. Transport outside Ubud costs extra and is quoted after the exact property is shared.
How long is the experience?
The hands-on cooking portion is approximately 1.5 hours. Allow additional time for transport, the optional market stop, arrival, and the shared meal.
What is the sample five-dish menu?
The sample table includes gado-gado, rendang, sayur urab, corn fritters, and black rice pudding. Seasonal supply and confirmed food requests may change a dish.
Is the lesson private?
Yes. Direct bookings are arranged for the guests in your own reservation group rather than a mixed public class.
Can vegetarians or vegans join?
Vegetarian menus can be planned with advance notice. Vegan needs must be discussed before booking because eggs, shrimp paste, fish sauce, and shared tools may need review.
Can serious allergies be guaranteed safe?
No medically sterile or zero-cross-contact kitchen is promised. Explain the ingredient, severity, and whether shared tools or oil are acceptable before payment, then wait for direct confirmation.
Is beer included in the cooking lesson price?
Yes. One complimentary beer per adult guest is included with either cooking package at no extra charge. Alcohol is optional and is served only to guests legally permitted to drink.
What do children pay?
Children aged 5-11 pay 50% of the applicable adult rate. Infants aged 0-4 join free. Children need active adult supervision around knives and heat.
When does the market package begin?
Typical Ubud pickup is around 7:00am, followed by approximately 30 minutes at Pejeng market. The confirmed pickup time is sent for each booking.
How is the booking confirmed?
Pak Lunga first confirms the date, package, guest count, pickup, food requests, final price, and payment method. A message or website estimate is not confirmation.
What is the cancellation policy?
When a guest cancels a confirmed booking, 50% of the total payment is refunded and the remaining 50% is non-refundable.
